Lady Golfers at Donnington Valley Golf Club

Ladies' Section

Donnington ladies are happy to welcome any new members.

The ladies meets on most Wednesday mornings at 8.45 am for an informal get together to play golf, either in teams or singly, and to meet afterwards for a chat and maybe a light lunch or snack.

The Ladies enter various national competitions, such as The Mail on Sunday, The Daily Mail Foursomes, The EGU’s Ping, Australian Spoons, and The LGU’s Coronation Foursomes. They also enter county competitions such as The Duncan Trophy and The Interclub Shield. Through the winter months they participate in both the high silver league and a bronze league.

Some Wednesdays are special days when there are competitions within our own club such as; The Stevenson Putter and The Jane Walker Trophy. Also there is a special "Introductory morning” and a special "Farewell afternoon” each year. At Christmas the ladies have a Christmas competition followed by lunch and twice a year they meet with the senior gentlemen (DOGGS and DOLLS) for fun days.

Throughout the summer season the ladies compete in the Summer Eclectic, Birdie and Par trees and Round Robins for 30 – 36 and for 20 – 29 handicaps. Ladies’ Friendly matches and mixed matches are organised against several other local clubs.

Social and fund raising events are held during the year and recently arranged theatre trips have been very popular.

If you would like further information please call Peter Smith on 01635 568144 or email and he will arrange for the Lady captain to contact you.
