Hungerford Victorian Extravaganza at Hungerford

Friday 12th December 5:00pm – 10:00pm

The day starts with local dignitaries in Victorian costume braving the elements to eat a large breakfast on the steps of the Town Hall. During the course of the day a mix of stalls will slowly appear through out the streets and by 5pm the town is alive with steam engines, side stalls, fairground rides and more.

Crowds gathered can enjoy Punch and Judy shows, clowns and jugglers and also a visit from Father Christmas. The shops will be open with staff in Victorian dress, some giving out mulled wine and mince pies. Many local charities will be there with a variety of stalls, tombolas and even hot soup.

7pm is the start of the Grand Parade. Commencing at the north end of the town and heading through the High street. After this there follows the prize giving for the best dressed shop windows, the best dressed shop assistants, and the best dressed stall holders.

At 9pm, the evening’s activities will be brought to a close by a firework finale and for those not wishing to head home, many pubs and restaurants are busy well into the night.

Free parking is available at Charnham Park and is clearly marked from all directions.
